New guidelines under the Obama administration for services pertaining to childbirth will be very different from what it used to be. The changes to be implemented will allow for free birth control and preventative care for mothers who wish to avoid getting pregnant. Insurance companies will not be able to charge even a co-pay under the Obama administration for any of these services. You do not even have to be a religious zealot to understand the consequences of such an action, and while our leadership may think that they are helping these young mothers to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, at least when they have to purchase the supplies there is a more conscience effect on what they are getting ready to do. Hopefully there will still be counseling to help these individuals understand that there could be some consequences, especially for the “morning after” pill. The Conservative among us are obviously not happy by this move especially since there seems to be a continuous disregard for human life. I would venture to say, however, while I may be not be on vacation with my opinion on contraceptives, I much prefer it to the alternative of abortion.
