“Are we still on for church this weekend?” Angie asked. He had almost forgotten about the invitation and in fact he was apprehensive about going with her especially since she was always standing in defense of the gospel in his presence. As he listened to her Ralph thought she could be a great lawyer especially when it came to arguing for the people yet it seemed as though Angie was more concerned with the fact that the people that she knew and loved would be lost if she could not convince them of what was important in their lives. Now that she was looking to take him to church he was getting mixed feelings.

“Hello, oh Hi sweetie” it was Angie his girlfriend and soon to be fiancée if he could ever muster up the courage to ask her. They met at one of his regular hair appointments when he was informed that his usual stylist was no longer working there. Ralph did not like change especially since nobody else seemed to understand his styling preference, when will they ever learn? The problem was that he did not have a lot of time and he had to be in court in an hour so when Angie offered to cut his hair for him, he reluctantly agreed.

Most of his adult life Ralph wanted to do what was right, he was somewhat concerned when he chose the legal profession as a career and realized that many of his co-workers were quite willing to take short cuts at the risk of their clients. Ralph did his stint in the public defender‘s office and was aghast when he realized how much pressure the young legal minds were under to settle cases. Ralph grew up in a Christian home where his family always talked about Jesus and the fact that God will take care of you. Now that he was out in the real world he was beginning to wonder.

“Boy I need a vacation” Rose said aloud as the news article came to an end. It seems as though there only a few places to go that some sort of national crisis is taking place. If its not political its natural, we MUST be doing something wrong for us to be experiencing all this heartache and strife. Rose was not a religious person by any means but she was beginning to wonder if she should be looking somewhere else for guidance. As she turned her gaze back to the TV set she saw a promo about Romantic Paris and smiled, “now that’s where I want to go” she yelled out loudly.

As Rose sat there day dreaming about Siesta Beach in Florida she was brought back to reality when she heard that a missing Okla. Boy was found. These national disasters are striking with a whole lot more frequency these days it almost seems as though we are being targeted by mother nature. But this child was just three years old he was hardly even introduced to life before he was taken. As Rose watched the emotional announcement from Ryan Hamil’s father about the loss of his precious son it was difficult not to feel the emotion building up inside of her.
