As they lay out on the grass of the open field Oscar went into one of his silent moods that she had become accustomed to. “What’s the matter” Sandra asked? “I have a sinful attitude” Oscar responded “and I am not sure what to do about it” She stopped short for a moment thinking how best to respond to his statement before she said “we all have one of those, what makes yours any different from mine?” He knew she was right of course but he also was aware that when it came to him he tended to be a bit more aware of the temptations that he had to deal with. “never mind” he quickly replied “what are we going to be studying today?”

Sandra was very popular in her school, there was hardly an event or social gathering that she did not attend or was invited to. She never had trouble catching the eye of the boys but it seemed as though they always wanted more than just her friendship and definitely more than she was prepared to give. Both of her parents were still alive but divorced. She often wondered what if they never got divorced, would things have been any different, sadly that was just a pipe dream. When it was time to choose a college Sandra decided that she did not want the same thing her parents had and made the decision to go to a Christian college instead.

After several years of running with a bad crowd in his neighborhood Oscar felt inspired to walk away from it all after he witnessed a good friend of his being run over by a truck. It was not the trucks fault in fact he kept telling his friend that he should be more careful as he dodged between the vehicles. One day Oscar‘s friend dashed out in the middle of the road almost as though he felt like he was invincible and that is when it happened. As we grow up in our neighborhood it is well worth our parents time to pay attention to who we associate with, fortunately this time it turned out okay for Oscar, it could have been a whole lot different.

Oscar and Sandra were both full time students. They met at the Christian University and immediately developed a liking for each other. As college students they spent many hours studying and whenever they could they would attempt to join forces to help each other out. There was only one way that they would develop a strong friendship and that would be through the word of God. Choosing a Christian University was not something that came from their parenting because neither had any upbringing in the church but after being inspired by the Holy Spirit they both felt as though this was meant to be.

In any event the moment of truth was here and Angie was looking for an answer. “Sure we are still on for church this weekend” Ralph answered “but you need to realize that I have not been to church in awhile so I might forget a few things.” Of course there was no fear for me thought Ralph, it was not as though he had never been to a house of worship and if he planned to ask Angie to marry him he would eventually need a church to perform the ceremony anyway. Now if only he could remember what denomination she was so he could do some quick reading up on it before he got there.
