Some time ago I decided to apply for a job in a medical environment, my first task was to locate some cheap scrubs for men which would allow me to dress the part. I had never worn scrubs before and I found them to be particularly relaxing, while providing the freedom and comfort to offer the service that was expected of me.

In most other jobs that I filled, the company would provide the uniforms that they expected me to wear, so the fact that I had to buy medical uniforms was somewhat of a surprise to me, especially since I had not yet earned any income for the job that I was preparing to do. It was not that I had a problem with it, because this way I could choose the colors and styles that I felt more comfortable wearing.

After spending a few years in that environment, I took away a boat load of experience and the whole exercise was fulfilling at best. I ended up with numerous pairs of scrubs of which I continue to use to this day. In most cases I find myself simply using the nursing scrub pants rather than the whole uniform, otherwise I am sometimes stopped and asked, which hospital I work for?

It is advise that is given on a regular basis by some people and it goes like this, keep your enemies close to you so that you can know their next move. While that advise may help some, our father gives us yet another and that is “Don’t Fear your Enemies” which is the smarter one to follow. Staying close to your enemies will risk some of their poison rubbing off on you, similar to acquiring fleas from a dog or catching someone else’s cold. Once you expose yourself to the elements, you make it easy for some of the slime to slide on to you.

The problem with many today is that they look for every opportunity to “fit in” with those around them, when in fact they should be trying to get away from everything in this world. If you are hoping to receive any blessings from above, you may wish to consider the source. The Bible is very clear as to what God approves of and what he detests, there should be no misunderstanding that certain sins are an abomination in His eyes. By caving in to peer pressure you are simply telling God that you prefer that kind of lifestyle to anything that he could possibly provide.

It is very unfortunate that many of us do not hear or understand when God speaks, because if we did we would hear Him telling us that his disappointed with the way we are living our lives. Sadly some of us call ourselves Christian and have no idea who Jesus Christ really is, nor do we have any desire to find out. If anyone even mentions the word, Jesus, Jesus Christ or God, we immediately turn away and divert our attention to the things of this world, like a football or baseball game, just so we do not have to listen to what He has to tell us.

We seem to be more comfortable with behavior that involves Erratic compulsions and deeds from the devil than the glorious promises that our Creator is providing for us. To some, this behavior is understandable, especially since they believe that what they don’t know cannot be used against them and to them I will plainly say, you are wrong! It really does not matter what you try to avoid, because when judgment comes around, you will have to answer like everyone else, you can bank on it. If you think that by trying to avoid the truth you can use the age old excuse that you did not know, then you may wish to consider the alternative.

Many children are scared of the dark, for a variety of reasons, whether it is after they have seen a scary movie, been read a bedtime scary story, or one of their friends sharing a tale that is anything but true. Regardless of the reason we need to train them from a young age that they have nothing to fear. In most cases it is the fear of the unknown that drives a child’s concern and that can be controlled by a parent proving to the child that they are always under the wing of our Lord and Creator. Is it an easy task, probably not.

As Christians, we are promised to be protected by our Father and while some of us are yet to understand what that means, God’s message to our Enemies is simple, they belong to me, so lay off. Before I knew the Lord I encountered many things that scared me, in fact like most children, I too was afraid of the dark, but that too passed quickly. You know that you are on the right track when you are no longer afraid to die, because dying is like an unknown event that will take place, which we do not understand. Of course, once you know the events you prepare yourself for the next stage, as I have. Are you ready?

Our society today has become so strung out and dependent of drugs that one can only wonder if conventional medical beliefs that we live by are really the way to go. Doctors are very quick to write prescriptions for medications that are expected to cure a particular disease or make someone comfortable while they deal with it. I guess we really cannot blame them for the way they do things, especially since we tend to twist their arm to have them authorize the use of these undesirable drugs that we crave so much. Drugs that act as a double edged sword, to help us on one hand, while rip us apart on another.

The sad fact is that our evil desires to maintain some sort of drug induced lifestyle is what continues to drive this train. All you need to do is to look to your left and to your right and you will see just how dependent we have all become on drugs of any kind. Please do not think that because you are not addicted to crack cocaine or marijuana that you are any better, because an addiction to cigarettes, alcohol and prescription drugs can be just as bad! Don’t use pain as an excuse to fill your prescription or harass that doctor, because the doctor can only go by what you tell them. Hopefully you will realize before it’s too late.
