Every born again Christian will naturally wish to lead others to Jesus Christ. Simon was advised to stay on his toes. Satan was trying his best to separate all of them from Jesus, like chaff from wheat. Jesus said, Simon, I’ve prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out. When you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start.”Peter resented the warning, being full of himself he responded by saying that he would never fail Jesus at any time. Peter said that he was ready to follow Jesus to prison if that was what he wanted, and even unto death. Because he was cocky, it was as though he was daring Satan to tempt him, which of course Satan did, and the rest is, as they say, history.

Jesus was undeterred and went right on to gave his charge, He said that “God had  authorized and commanded Him to commission them: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.” All the facilities of heaven are pledged to those who by their baptismal vows have entered into a covenant with God.

If any of you are embarrassed over Jesus and the way He is leading you when you get around your fickle and unfocused friends, know that you’ll be an even greater embarrassment to the Son of Man when he arrives in all the splendor of God, his Father, with an army of the holy angels.” Woe to you who think you live on easy street in Zion, who think Mount Samaria is the good life. You assume you’re at the top of the heap, voted the number-one best place to live. Well, wake up and look around. Get off your pedestal.

If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath. It’s better to suffer for doing good, if that’s what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad. That’s what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others’ sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all, was put to death and then made alive, to bring us to God.

Jesus said, “I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is, when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples. He touched their eyes and said, “Become what you believe.” It happened. They saw. Then Jesus became very stern. “Do not let a soul know how this happened.”

Jesus Said, “I am in my Father and my Father is in me. If you can’t believe that, believe what you see, these works. The person who trusts me will not only do what I’m doing but even greater things, because I, on my way to the Father, am giving you the same work to do that I’ve been doing. You can count on it.” “From now on, whatever you request along the lines of who I am and what I am doing, I will do it. That’s how the Father will be seen for who he is in the Son. I mean it. Whatever you request in this way, I will do.”

Paul wanted to make it clear that he had never gotten anything from his duties, and that he would rather die than give anyone ammunition to discredit him or suggest that he had motives. Paul said, “If I proclaim the Message, it is not to get something out of it for myself. I am compelled to do it, and doomed if I do not!” “If this was my own idea of just another way to make a living, I would expect some pay. But since it is not my idea but something solemnly entrusted to me, why would I expect to get paid? So am I getting anything out of it? Yes, as a matter of fact: the pleasure of proclaiming the Message at no cost to you. You do not even have to pay my expenses!”

Paul was established in his faith, but as far as possible he sought to make himself one with  those for whom he labored. It was Paul’s privilege to claim financial support from those that he labored for, yet he chose to gain his support through his own hands. He never received wages for his labor, although as a minister he was entitled to do so. By this action, he made it painfully clear that his gain would be souls and not money. Paul never depended on man for his ordination, that benefit came from the Lord. In fact, Paul considered his ministerial duties as a privilege.

Halfhearted Christians are worse than infidels because of their deceptive words  and noncommittal behavior, they lead many astray. The lukewarm Christian  will successfully deceive both parties, simply because he is not dedicated to either the world nor Jesus Christ. Because of this he will be unknowingly used by Satan to do a job that nobody else can do. When the angel passes over, Christ cannot say to them “touch them not”, rather he will say “ I will spew them out of my mouth”

Since the Lord clearly defined the road to his city, one wonders why someone would want to change the signposts, thereby setting up a false one, which turned out to be a false Sabbath.  Then again, if that individual happened to be Satan and his objective was to afford God’s children to lose their way to the city, then it would make sense. Satan indicated that he would work at odds with God, empowering his cronies to have God’s memorial, the seventh-day Sabbath removed from society. His plan in doing this was to show to the world that the sanctified “so called Sabbath Day” had been changed and therefore removed from the peoples minds.

Instead of God’s Holy sanctified Sabbath Day, Satan vowed to instill a day bearing no connection to God and his requirements, but one that would clearly reflect a connection with Satan instead. This change that will be introduced will cause the people of this world to choose Satan instead of God. Satan would cause the first day of the week to be honored as the recognized Sabbath Day. This would cause a non-observance of the Sabbath Day which God had instituted, which would in effect show contempt for God’s law. The words, “a sign between you and I through the generations”, will now be on the side of Satan’s introduced Sabbath.

This change will cause the world to become Satan’s, thereby placing him as the ruler of the earth and prince of the world. Satan’s plan is to control the minds of the people under the power that God’s Sabbath shall be an object of contempt. Satan would then make the sign, an observance of the seventh day Sabbath, a sign of disloyalty to the authorities here on earth. Governmental laws shall be made so unbearable, that men and women will not dare to observe God’s true Sabbath day, just because of the fear of needing food and clothing. People of this earth will join together in transgressing God’s law, and the earth will inadvertently be under Satan’s dominion.

Too often we forget that life is short and we lose track of our objectivity, forgetting that we never have another opportunity to retrace our steps. We lose small windows of time to make a difference in someones life, in most cases never to have it again. Every encounter that we come by, has its purpose, though me may not see it right away.

God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.
I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past, I have the present moment, I must treat it as my last.
I must use the moment wisely, for it soon shall pass away, and be lost to me forever, as part of yesterday
I must exercise compassion, Help the fallen to their feet, Be a friend to the friendless, Make an empty life complete.
The unkind things that I do today, May never be undone, Any friendships that I fail to win, May nevermore be won.
I may not have another chance, On bended knee to pray, And I thank God with humble heart, For giving me the day.

It is my prayer that if I am chosen to make an impact on someone’s life, I am successful. Lord, please don’t let me miss those chance encounters that you place in front of me. Let me be of service to you in any way that you design. Do not allow me to sleep, when I should be awake. If I wear blinders, help me to remove them so that I can better serve you, for I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
