One often wonders how they find themselves in the predicament that this young actress has managed to find herself in, yet the last person we tend to blame is ourselves. While I realize that miss Lohan has been in the spotlight for some time now, which has a tendency to put undue pressure on an up and coming star, using this excuse as an example is nothing short of a “cop out”.  If any of you would like to suggest that as her excuse, I will beg to differ right now. I will say, however, that the legal system has made the right choice in providing her with both, jail time (for accountability) and rehab, to help her back on her feet.

The book of proverbs says it like this, “Who are the people who are always crying the blues? Who do you know who reeks of self-pity? Who keeps getting beat up for no reason at all? Whose eyes are bleary and bloodshot? It’s those who spend the night with a bottle, for whom drinking is serious business. Don’t judge wine by its label, or its bouquet, or its full-bodied flavor. Judge it rather by the hangover it leaves you with, the splitting headache, the queasy stomach. Do you really prefer seeing double, with your speech all slurred, Reeling and seasick, drunk as a sailor? “They hit me,” you’ll say, “but it didn’t hurt; they beat on me, but I didn’t feel a thing. When I’m sober enough to manage it, bring me another drink!”

The man who has formed the habit of drinking intoxicating liquor, is in a desperate situation. He cannot be reasoned with, or persuaded to deny himself the indulgence. His stomach and brain are diseased, his will power is weakened, and his appetite uncontrollable. The prince of the powers of darkness holds him in bondage in which he has no power to break. For the aid of such victims the liquor traffic should be stopped.
