http://www.facebook.com/chrispirillohttp://twitter.com/ChrisPirillo – Before you even start watching this video, leave a comment with your thoughts on the new YouTube layout (specificially, the layout on these individual video pages). We didn’t really lose or gain functionality, but I do say that I’m still seeing a few usability issues. What do you think? http://chris.pirillo.com/

Attachment can be an interesting concept to deal with, you see something and you decide to yourself that you want that as your own, therefore you will do what is necessary to acquire it. Lets assume that the item you are attached to is a toy such as a game, you have been introduced to this game and you may even have played it once or twice at a friends house, now it is time for you to leave. You really enjoyed playing with this game, but you cannot take it with you.

Unlike the game that you can go out and buy, (if you can afford it) we shall take this scenario one step further, and substitute the game for a human being. For the guys out there, you meet someone on a date or at a function or on the internet, you enjoy her company, but she does not feel the same way, however you are not ready to let the possibility of something perfect (you think) slip through your hands. You start following her around and laying awake outside her home or job, just wanting to be next to her.

Forming an attachment to an object is one thing, however should you find yourself attached or obsessed to someone to the extent that you are unable to do or think about anything else but her, (or him) please seek professional help, because that sort or attachment can and will lead someone into trouble.

We all need someone in this life unless of course we prefer to live our lives as a hermit. If you are one that enjoys hibernation, then you are probably more in favor of seclusion to some extent, however that is of a temporary nature. Should you wish some company, you can either surface (when you feel the need) from time to time, or get on the phone and call someone. You can take a drive to someone’s house, or you may not even have to leave you abode, because with the age of internet, you can talk to someone on the computer and see them at the same time.

But what if you are confined to a locked room with no contact of any kind, there are no windows, so you cannot see outside. You have no internet access, therefore you are cut off from the rest of the world. Someone brings you your meals (on a daily basis) but they don’t talk to you and the only communication that transpires between you and that person is the exchanging of food containers. Days go by, then weeks, months and years, you lose track of time, what day is it anyway?

Being in solitary confinement is not just like being in “time-out”, you are now alone. You are in your own little world, without any possibility of human contact, such as speech or touch. You long for someone to come by and visit, if only to remind you that there is a world out there, and some sort of civilization.
