We take for granted some of the simpler things in life, such as the right to vote, the ability to get up in the morning on our own power, the ability to walk and talk and carry on a conversation with another human being because we happen to be free to do so. We have the ability to go for a walk in the park, watch a move, one that we really want to see, not one that fifty or sixty other men or women have to vote on first.

Being able to choose the restaurant we want to eat at, or just go to the grocery and pick up some items from the grocery, bring them home and cook it ourselves. Going to sleep when we want to and sleeping in when we have no desire to go anywhere. Grabbing your cell phone and calling someone, just to chat, just before you go to sleep of while you are on break from you job. We take all these things for granted as sure as if we always had them in our lives.

If you ever want to see what it is like to lose any of these freedoms, it would be as easy as breaking a law and going to jail or prison. There your life will be controlled to the fullest, and many times you do not even have the ability to think for yourself, unless of course you are so frustrated by the culture shock that you plan an escape.

The repeated occurrences of drug arrests, with no prejudice in mind should be a clear indication that America has a serious dependency problem. No one is immune to this monkey that is seated on their back, therefore I do not understand why this problem is more seriously addressed. Every day I read about more and more people being incarcerated because of drug possession and drug use, when the right thing to do is to ensure that they get help. Slapping a fine on them and maybe even the cost of their own rehab should be included in that fine.

If we evaluate the individuals that are being struck down from their lives to one of shame, heartache and broken families, one wonders where and when it will end. For some strange reason, the powers that be are under the impression that incarceration will solve the problem, well let me take this opportunity to say this, that form of action will only intensify the problem, because obtaining drugs within the walls and fences of the penal facilities is just as easy as obtaining it on the streets.

What gets me really upset though, is the way governmental and protective services look down their noses at a drug user, when they are just as guilty of using as the average man on the street, the only difference is, it may take a little longer for them to get caught.

In these depressed days where employment is low, (and getting lower) where drug addiction is high, (and getting higher) it is nice to see establishments that make themselves available to help others, rather than see what they can get from them. With drug use rampant and causing lives to spiral downwards into the abyss, and governmental agencies trying to make money from their misfortune, (through incarceration among other things). In these troubling times, it is good to see that something positive can come from the downfall of others and it is my hope and prayer that I can witness many more of these positive situations in the weeks and months to come.

To my newer readers, let me say that I am a Christian all the way by faith, therefore the church of Scientology (there’s an oxymoron for you) would not be my choice of reference on this story, however, I am willing to acknowledge the fact that, in this case anyway, they have played an important part in supporting and influencing the Narconon Drug and rehab center in its early days. Their influence in the life of William Benitez was strong enough and therefore gave him purpose to fulfill his wishes to help others.

It is said that God has his Angels guiding and protecting his people all over the world and this would be a perfect example of that fact. Through his prison sentence at Arizona state, rather than allow himself to rot, he used this time to put together a plan to help others upon his release. Hear his story and please pass on this wonderful example of human kindness to others. Thank You!

I accept the fact that there is both good and evil in this world, so when I come face to face with some individual, or group of individuals that are intent of doing everything in their power to disprove that Jesus Christ even existed, or that if he did he is dead now, it makes me cringe. It is quite amazing what extent “non-believers” will go to try to disprove the fact that there is a God and that he did send his only Son Jesus Christ on earth to save our ungrateful souls.

Non-believers are extremely scared of the Bible because they are not sure what to make of it. Instead of studying its content and then forming an opinion based on their findings, they would prefer to read every other book under the sun, written by men who are obviously “non-believers”, just so they can find some argument that disproves the Bible and all it stands for. Naturally these other books take key texts from His Word and use those snippets of information to build an opposition that they use against Christians.

Fortunately for man, they have a God that is forgiving, (but Jealous) and is willing to allow some measure of denial. But the denial of the Bible is a personal one and no other book, writer or “so called” professor can prove it wrong, as everything written in it has either happened already or will be happening in the near future, including the resurrection of Jesus Christ. For those doubters, I suggest you get busy reading the books of both Daniel and the book of Revelation, that is if you are really serious about finding out the truth.
