Germany – Cologne

Full of old world charm, and new world excitement. Cologne (Köln) is the home of some of the oldest architecture around today and some of that architecture can be found in there accommodations such as the Dom Hotel which was founded by the Romans in 50 A.D. and with all the amenities you will ever need (Satellite Plasma TV, Iron/Ironing board, Mini bar, Non-Smoking rooms and 24 hour in room Dining) any of their “over 120 rooms” will suffice.

With its cylindrical shape, the Hotel Im Wassertum awaits your presence, loaded with luxury and style and comes with a variation of a deluxe room or a choice of Junior, Maisonette or regular suites. While the Callas Hotel am Dom is smaller than many (with only 26 rooms), they offer Complimentary Breakfast, available medical assistance and 24 hour room service.

With expectations quite contrary from most western restaurants, dining out while in Cologne will be an experience you will not want to miss and should begin with Fruh a pub/brewery that offers excellent service and an extended German menu for an average of fifteen US dollars, followed by Brauhaus Em Kölsche Boor which serves great German food (large portions) and beer with prices that average US $25. After all that good German food and beer (they appreciate their beer) how about some desert at Eis Cafe Raffaello, while they could be considered a little more pricy than average, they are well worth the trip.
