The taste of France is exceptional and so a trip to that country should include that option. 58 tour Eiffel will be a dining experience to remember, whether your visit is at lunch with their offerings of Seared salmon fillet, polenta with dried fruits, Beef stew, mashed potato/carrot, Coquillette ham/butter, truffle cream, or Dinner with Seasonal vegetables cooked in a cast-iron pot, parmesan emulsion, Pan-seared cod fish, roasted fennel, white butter sauce or Pan-seared farm raised chicken breast, mashed potato, Port cream, and the view is to die for!

Carré des Feuillants, known for its variety and taste, is another “must visit” restaurant which should be added to your list of eateries. Though it carries only two stars, it has been given thumbs up by New York times and Frommer, and with menu items such as scallops with a truffled celery mousseline, roasted rack of milkfed Pyrenees lamb, braised veal with a mushroom cannelloni, and of course, do not leave without your desert of mango and passionfruit ravioli.

Our third recommendation would be Le Procope café, this eatery which is very reasonably priced was once called Café Zoppi. They carry a decent menu which consists of grilled fish and different kinds of meat, shellfish, onion soup and duck breast in honey sauce, Bon Appétit.

As exquisite as it is, it is truly a welcome sight. Some of the more well known destinations in Europe are in France and include places such as Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe and of course Eiffel Tower. HOTEL MONTMARTRE CLIGNANCOURT is located in the heart of Paris and is affordable, this affordability comes with a price which requires you to be somewhat friendly with the other guests and come equipped with a common and shared shower which is free of charge. All rooms are recently refurbished and come equipped with wireless internet access, microwave, coffee maker and fax service.

Hotel des Olympiades is a one star hotel and is extremely reasonable in price, probably because it is designed for a bag packer whose intention is to spend just a night or two and then move on. Considered as a city mover, this facility comes with 50 rooms, and internet access (which is located in the lobby). Breakfast is also available, but not included in the price.

For the more experienced traveler, check out the Montpensier. This hotel receives endless kudos for its service, comfort and location; its rooms are exceptionally priced for its rating and come equipped with internet access, individual shower and safe access at reception.

And finally for those that do not care about cost but rather have style, there’s Jays-Paris which comes with 24-hour security, Flat screen HD satellite television with150 channels, CD/DVD players and WIFI internet service.

The tropics never looked so good. Located on the east coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, Cancun is a place where many activities that may be considered as sinful are executed daily. With blue water everywhere, the call is stronger than ever to get in and soak it up. Accommodations in this tourist area are generally of a resort nature as they cater primarily for visitors that are here to play.

Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach welcomes kids and has available, its own beach, multilevel pool, another pool that is designated just for the kids, and children under twelve eat free at hotel restaurants. Another “kid friendly” resort is Great Parnassus Resort and Spa, which has five pools, ten restaurants and a kids club, in addition the rooms at this establishment come with wireless internet, CD Players and cable TV, however, should the hotel and resort lifestyle be more than you are looking for, a limited number of bed and breakfast facilities are available to you.

Activities are generally similar, regardless of where you stay in this tourist Mecca and include Diving, fishing, Snorkeling and jet skiing, but make sure and leave some energy for Cancun’s well known night life, where you can just relax and drink up the local spirits or you can introduce your friend to a brand new day after a night of partying non stop!

Full of old world charm, and new world excitement. Cologne (Köln) is the home of some of the oldest architecture around today and some of that architecture can be found in there accommodations such as the Dom Hotel which was founded by the Romans in 50 A.D. and with all the amenities you will ever need (Satellite Plasma TV, Iron/Ironing board, Mini bar, Non-Smoking rooms and 24 hour in room Dining) any of their “over 120 rooms” will suffice.

With its cylindrical shape, the Hotel Im Wassertum awaits your presence, loaded with luxury and style and comes with a variation of a deluxe room or a choice of Junior, Maisonette or regular suites. While the Callas Hotel am Dom is smaller than many (with only 26 rooms), they offer Complimentary Breakfast, available medical assistance and 24 hour room service.

With expectations quite contrary from most western restaurants, dining out while in Cologne will be an experience you will not want to miss and should begin with Fruh a pub/brewery that offers excellent service and an extended German menu for an average of fifteen US dollars, followed by Brauhaus Em Kölsche Boor which serves great German food (large portions) and beer with prices that average US $25. After all that good German food and beer (they appreciate their beer) how about some desert at Eis Cafe Raffaello, while they could be considered a little more pricy than average, they are well worth the trip.

Be careful what you wish for. It seems as though this administration is intent on starting a conflict with China, based on recent events that have come to light in the news, which in itself is surprising, because of the history of the Democratic party and their unwillingness to go “head to head” with anyone else except the Republicans. I personally think there’s a lack of backbone, but then that is just my opinion, one of many that are out there.

To be fair, this transaction with Taiwan has been in the works since the previous administration, however, the reaction may not have been expected, and may actually be intended to test the Obama administration for weak stops. As I recall a similar play was enforced by China soon after the Bush administration came into power with the (escorting and confining) of a reconnaissance aircraft.

Whether they realize it or not, this is the time for the Obama administration to “cowboy up” and show the Chinese government that this country does not depend on them to survive. Wait a minute, I may be wrong, I think the United States of America does depend on the finances of the Chinese to get us out of the rut that we are in, so we may well have to eat crow anyway!
